So let’s talk honestly about bouncy castles.

Bouncy Castles are a massive pain in my … BOTTOM! 🤬

Everything about having a bouncy castle at a party does the opposite of what I’m trying to create.

You want a fun atmosphere with organised chaos at a party, where everybody’s having a great time playing together, and I aim to create lots of smiles and joy. I want the kids to listen and learn that they will have a great time participating if they do.

But as soon as there is a bouncy castle at a party, I’m instantly filled with dread, here’s why…

⚡🧲 It’s a child magnet

It just pulls the kids in, and their attention span disappears. I know I will not get the room’s attention at a party with a bouncy castle because the kids will constantly be running backwards and forwards to it.

Why would they listen to this crazy woman when you can go jump on a bouncy castle and elbow someone in the face 😵💫

🔊❌ Bounce castles are so noisy.

Even on a microphone, I have to shout over the bloody thing. I can’t hear anything the kids or adults say to me. It just means the volume of the party goes up and up until it’s deafening.

If you have kids with sensory issues, it’s not very inclusive, and the noise can be far too overwhelming for them to enjoy. As a result, they won’t feel comfortable, and it’s not a fun environment.

😑💢 No matter how much energy our effort or time I put into the party, bouncy castles will always cause fights and upset.

I don’t want to be the one telling the kids off. It’s not what I’m here to do. I like the kids to have a good time joining in, not chastising them. It’s just a lousy situation for me.

✔🏰 Bouncy castles can be great fun at kid’s parties when it’s done right.

If you do want a bouncy castle party, that’s fine.

Let me tell you how to do it properly.

  • Have someone there to manage it and limit how many kids are on it at once. Don’t let it get too overcrowded as it quickly gets dangerous. If it’s not managed, the kids won’t take turns and won’t play nicely, leading to screams, arguments and lots of tears! 😭

  • Find a large garden or hall, get a speaker and Spotify a kid’s party playlist for background atmosphere.

  • Invite a small number of kids to make it more manageable. I don’t recommend an entire class of kids for this activity.

  • Don’t bother hiring an entertainer. I mean it, DON’T hire me!

HIRE ME if you want a fun atmosphere; BOOK ME if you want the kids to fully engage in the fun and games. GET IN CONTACT if you wish to have organised chaos without the tears. If you need someone to take control and remove the stress of hosting a kid’s party.

That’s what I’m here to do, and that is my party promise!
